Vodacom provides a free daily SMS quota to Vodacom subscribers from the Vodacom4me website.

Vodacom subscribers can send up to 20 SMS and 5 MMS every day by logging on to the Vodacom4me website from their PC.

Free SMS is not available from the mobile version of Vodacom4me, but there are a few 'mobile gateway' sites that are not Vodacom affiliates but do enable you to login to Vodacom4me from your mobile phone and send free SMSes.

Vodacom4me SMS is limited to the Vodacom network only and there have been reports that Vodacom users can receive Vodacom4me SMS in other countries if they have activated SMS roaming.
